IX International Scholarly Seminar “Text and Image: Interactions between Narrative and Visuality”

Participation in the 9th International Scholarly Seminar “Text and Image: Interactions between Narrative and Visuality”, held on 17 October 2025 at the initiative of the Department of Art History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (moderator: Stefania Demchuk).

A paper entitled “The Network‑Culture Text in the Instagram Content of Ukrainian Cultural Media as a Form of Contemporary Audiovisual Media Narrative in the Context of the Catharsis Process in Ukrainian Art (2022-2025)” was presented, followed by an engaging theoretical discussion with Ukrainian art theorists.

During the seminar, participants discussed the concept of catharsis in Ukrainian art proposed by the author, clarified several theoretical notions introduced in the paper, and addressed the issue of artistic quality in a work of art – both in its classical understanding and in contemporary interpretations.

The presentation included an analysis of several network‑culture texts that document processes of renewal and revival in contemporary Ukrainian art, demonstrating the latest modes of visualising these phenomena in the Instagram communication of Ukrainian cultural platforms.
