VII International Scientific Conference „Problems of methodology in contemporary art and culturology” (Kyiv, Ukraine)

On 19-21 November 2025, the VII International Scientific Conference „Problems of methodology in contemporary art and culturology” (Kyiv, Ukraine) was held online.

I delivered a paper during the opening plenary session entitled: “Instagram as a Space of Contemporary Artistic Practices: Network‑Culture Texts, Media Narratives of Ukrainian Cultural Platforms, and the Catharsis of Ukrainian Art in 2022-2025.” The presentation examined the role of digital culture and Instagram – as the most visual and visualization‑oriented platform – in the process of catharsis (renewal and revival) of Ukrainian art in 2022–2025.

The paper analysed the Instagram content of four Ukrainian cultural media platforms (@liroomcomua, @post.impreza, @yabl.ua, @sensormedia.ua), with particular attention to the specific audiovisual media narratives characteristic of each platform.

The analysis also addressed the main forms, features, and functions of the most recent media‑artistic practices within network culture in the context of the phenomenon of catharsis – purification, renewal, and revival – in Ukrainian art in 2022-2025, a process that is inherently conflict‑generating.
